- The FSS-001 is an optical smoke detector for early fire warning.

The optical smoke fire detector gives reliable early warning of a fire. It responds to a fixed smoke concentration threshold in the protected premises.
The smoke sensitivity is factory preset to European Standard ISO 7240 / TCVN 7568-14:2025-7.
A microprocessor controls the detector. FSS operates with an improved algorithm. The algorithm compensates for contamination of the optic chamber. It signals when the chamber needs dusting. Cleaning is quick because the body cover is easy to dismantle and assemble.
The optic chamber and the new screen technology give high protection against dust particles and insects. The detector also works under strong air flow.

Pairing the FSS-001 with a control panel
The FSS-001 is designed for FireSmart’s conventional (zone-based) control panels, the FCP and FSP series. Each zone supports up to 32 detectors on an electronically supervised circuit.
Some buildings need a wireless installation with no cabling. This is common in renovations and heritage buildings. The equivalent addressable device is the WSD-1 wireless optical smoke detector. It reports to the WCP-1 panel over a self-routing wireless radio mesh instead of signal cabling.
