The wireless fire alarm system make installation much easier than ever. We save 90% installing time because there is no cable anymore. Since then, cost for the system and maintenance is much lower.
SMOKE DETECTOR
The WSD-1 wireless smoke detector is compatible with the FireSmart wireless control panel WCP-1.
Additionally, it functions as an interconnect device, meaning it can connect with other smoke, heat, or combined smoke and heat detectors, even without the wireless control panel. The WSD-1 can also connect to a wireless manual call point and a wireless fire alarm bell.
The detector employs a photoelectric sensor to detect smoke. This type of sensor is particularly sensitive to larger smoke particles, which are typically present in the early stages of slow-burning fires, such as those originating from electrical wires.
HEAT DETECTOR
The WHD-1 features a highly linear thermistor circuit. Its specially designed cover protects the thermistor while allowing for maximum airflow. This thermistor circuit produces a voltage that is proportional to the ambient temperature.
When the ambient temperature exceeds a pre-programmed threshold — either a fixed temperature of 54 degrees Celsius or a rate of rise of 8 degrees Celsius per minute — the sensor enters alarm mode.
In a MESH-Network of interconnected detectors, a maximum of 50 devices, including smoke detectors, heat detectors, manual call points (MCPs), and wireless horns or sirens, can be installed.
When used with a Fire Alarm Control Panel (FACP), the WHD-1 transmits an interrupt signal to the control panel in the event of a fire alarm.
COMBINATION OF SMOKE & HEAT DETECTOR
Combination smoke and heat detectors are integrated devices designed to detect both smoke and abnormal heat, which are common indicators of a fire. These detectors usually combine the elements of photoelectric smoke detection and a heat sensor in one unit.
- Dual Detection Mechanism: The primary advantage is their dual detection capability. While smoke detectors are effective at identifying smoldering fires that produce a lot of smoke, heat detectors are better at detecting fast, flaming fires with less smoke. This combination enhances overall fire detection efficiency.
- Reduced False Alarms: By integrating both smoke and heat detection, these detectors can reduce false alarms. They can differentiate between non-hazardous events (like steam or dust) and real fire scenarios by evaluating both smoke and heat parameters.
- Versatile Installation: These detectors are suitable for a wide range of environments, especially in areas where standalone smoke detectors may trigger false alarms, like kitchens and bathrooms.
- Cost-Effective: Installing a single device that serves dual functions can be more cost-effective than purchasing separate smoke and heat detectors.

Wireless fire alarm detectors have become more common in recent years for several reasons, reflecting advancements in technology as well as changes in building practices and user preferences. As a fire alarm expert with extensive experience, I can outline the key factors contributing to their increased popularity:
- Ease of Installation: Wireless detectors do not require hardwiring, making the installation process quicker, easier, and less invasive. This is especially beneficial in buildings where running wires is difficult, such as historic structures, or in temporary installations.
- Flexibility and Scalability: Wireless systems can be easily expanded or reconfigured. Adding, moving, or removing detectors is much simpler, which is particularly useful in dynamic environments like commercial spaces or construction sites.
- Reduced Installation Costs: The absence of wiring significantly reduces labor and material costs associated with installation. It also minimizes disruption to existing structures and decor, which is important in residential and commercial settings.
- Advanced Technology: Modern wireless detectors often come with advanced features such as remote monitoring, integration with smart home systems, and the ability to send alerts to mobile devices. This aligns with the growing trend towards interconnected and smart home technologies.
- Battery Life Improvements: Earlier concerns about the battery life of wireless detectors have been largely addressed with the development of long-lasting batteries and low-power technology, making them more reliable and maintenance-friendly.
- Aesthetic Appeal: Wireless detectors often have a more streamlined design, as they don’t require bulky wiring infrastructure. This is appealing in settings where aesthetics are a priority.
- Enhanced Safety Features: Many wireless systems offer advanced safety features like interconnected alarms, where if one detector is triggered, all alarms in the network sound. This provides an enhanced level of safety, especially in larger homes or buildings.
- Regulatory Support: In some regions, regulations and building codes are increasingly supportive of wireless technology due to its flexibility and ease of installation, especially in retrofitting older buildings with fire alarm systems.
