The FireSmart wireless monitoring control module family (WBM-1 to WBM-6, and MCP-K) extends supervision and control for the wireless fire alarm system, operating at 444.4 MHz.
Key features
- WBM / WBM-1: addressable monitoring-control and addressing for conventional detectors
- WBM-2: signal repeater to extend 444.4 MHz coverage
- WBM-3 / WBM-4: water-level and current measurement
- WBM-5 / WBM-6: fire-door and pressure/flow monitoring
- MCP-K: power cut-off module on alarm
Power supply by module type
WBM, WBM-1 and WBM-2 run on mains 220VAC with a self-charging backup battery (2×3.7V, 2,500mAh) good for roughly 24 hours in a power cut. WBM-5 (fire-door monitoring) is fully battery-powered instead — a single 3V, 2,400mAh cell lasting around 3 years, since it only needs to report an open/closed state — and WBM-6 also runs on battery. All modules are programmed from the WCP-1 control panel or a handheld programming device; WBM-2 specifically repeats the wireless signal to extend network coverage, useful in larger buildings or sites with thick walls. For how these modules fit into a wireless fire alarm network, see our guide to operating an addressable wireless fire alarm system.
Standards: designed to meet TCVN 7568-18 (input/output devices) and TCVN 7568-17 (short-circuit isolation).
Frequently asked questions about the WBM modules
What do the WBM modules do?
They extend supervision and control of the wireless fire alarm system, covering addressing, signal repeating, water-level and current measurement, door and pressure monitoring, and power cut-off on alarm.
What frequency do they use?
They operate wirelessly at 444.4 MHz and are programmed from the WCP-1 or FCOM.
